ObamaCare was rushed through in a single party effort. To quote Nancy Pelosi, "we have to pass the bill to see what's in it." It has now been predicted that Ohioans can expect their health care costs to go up dramatically when Obamacare goes into full effect. The name of the bill is The Affordable Care Act. Really?

I am not sure any piece of legislation needs to be more than 4,000 pages long. No wonder Congress didn't read it before passing it. Our country's healthcare policies should be understandable to the public (our tax code should be understandable too). My sense is that the government's takeover of health care will take decisions about our health out of our own hands and force us to navigate an unintelligible system. Reports are coming out across Ohio saying that premiums could rise as much as 80%.

I believe decisions should be made closest to those who are affected, which means you and your doctor. At the same time, public health policy must be responsive to the needs of the elderly and low-income Ohioans. We all deserve a system that we can understand, that is there for us when we need it and whose costs do not deter people from getting the care they need. The federal government is NOT the answer to health care reform.
Our family business is suing Obamacare and the HHS mandate. Click here for details on the case.
